Day Cooking Adventures

Whether you are at home or abroad, there are many ways to spice up to your weekend or vacation stay. Or you are planning a vacation or looking for something fun to do locally, do a search for food tours in the city you want to explore and you are sure to find something out of the ordinary.  These types of tours are usually half day or full day.

Day Cooking Classes

Cooking classes are usually 2-3 hours and can be run by a local restaurant or cooking school.
They are small groups and is a great way to meet new people, and usually they involve eating and drinking during and after the class is over.

Cost – Classes can be anywhere between $30-$75


Food Walking Tour

Food walking tours are guided by a local who is an expert in the restaurant scene and has carefully curated visits to multiple stops. Tours will commence as a small group. The price of the tour includes tastings and sometimes alcohol. This is a great way to get to know a town from the inside out. Plus after sampling the best a city has to offer you will have plenty of great options to pick for dinner later.

Wine or Cheese Tours

Tour a winery or see how a dairy turns milk into cheese. Many of these tours will include tastings and  great insight into the science of how these wonders are made. You can find half or full day bus tours that are organized or there are destinations that you can drive yourself to. Obviously the coached guided tours are going to be much more expensive but you are getting much more experience packaged together.

Longer Cooking Stays

For someone who is truly a food lover, a home chef, or just looking for an alternative type of vacation, there are longer term foodie vacations or culinary vacations. Some are weekend stays and some can be week long. A Cooking stay is the ultimate way to immerse yourself into the culture of your destination. For couples it’s a romantic way to jazz up your love life in the kitchen. Many long term Cooking Vacations are all inclusive meaning meals, accommodations, outings and airport pickups are part of the package. Itineraries are structured so that you still have free time to explore your destination on your own time. Expect to visit fresh local market, wineries, and restaurants in small groups led by an expert in the area. Don’t forget making lifelong friends.

When you think of bed and breakfasts you might imagine it as a charming overnight stay, some scrambled eggs, muffins, coffee in the morning to send you on your way to your real destination. Today many B&B’s are elevating our culinary expectations and fast becoming THE destination for discerning travelers looking for a truly unique food experience. Some B&B’s are located on a winery, family farms, or offer cooking classes right on premises.
